Marble Care in Malaysia's Climate — What You Need to Know

We believe in honest, transparent product information. Natural marble requires more care than sintered stone — here is what to expect:

  • Sealing: Marble is a porous stone and should be sealed with a penetrating stone sealer every 12–18 months to prevent staining. We recommend professional sealing or DIY with quality sealers available at hardware stores
  • Acidic liquids: Lime juice, vinegar, soy sauce, and carbonated drinks can etch marble if left on the surface — always wipe promptly. This is not a defect; it is the nature of calcite stone
  • Hot pots: Unlike sintered stone, marble can be affected by thermal shock from very hot pots placed directly on the surface — always use a trivet or heat pad for steamboat, claypots, or serving dishes above 80°C
  • Daily cleaning: A damp cloth with mild pH-neutral soap — no acidic or bleach-based cleaners. Dry immediately after wiping

If your household does regular steamboat dining or has young children, we honestly recommend our sintered stone dining tables instead — they are maintenance-free and equally luxurious in appearance. 保养须知与服务范围

天然大理石需定期（每12–18个月）用石材密封剂封孔防污，避免酸性液体（柠檬汁、酱油、醋）长时间接触台面。不可直接放置极烫锅具，建议使用隔热垫。如家庭常吃火锅，建议改选岩板餐桌（零保养、耐热700°C）。

100% genuine quarried natural stone — not laminate, not engineered, not printed surface. You can verify this yourself: real marble is cold to the touch even in Malaysia's heat, has unique veining that continues through the slab edge (not just printed on the surface), and is extremely heavy (80–200kg depending on size). Laminate and engineered stone tops are lightweight, warm to touch, and show repeating patterns. We cut and polish our stone tops in-house at our Lahat factory — you are welcome to visit and see the production firsthand.
We recommend using a trivet or heat pad for steamboat pots on a marble surface. Unlike sintered stone (which is heat-proof up to 700°C), natural marble can experience thermal shock from extremely hot pots placed directly on the cold stone — this can cause micro-cracking or discolouration over time. Marble is heat-resistant for normal serving dishes and warm plates, but for active steamboat dining we honestly recommend our sintered stone dining tables — they are 100% heat-safe and require zero maintenance. If the marble aesthetic is the priority, a quality silicone trivet protects the surface completely.
Marble maintenance is straightforward but requires consistency: seal the surface every 12–18 months with a penetrating stone sealer (available at ACE Hardware, Mr DIY, or online). For daily cleaning, use a damp cloth with pH-neutral soap — never acidic cleaners, vinegar-based sprays, or bleach. Wipe spills immediately — particularly acidic liquids like lime juice, soy sauce, vinegar, and carbonated drinks, which can etch the surface if left for more than a few minutes. Humidity itself does not affect properly sealed marble. In air-conditioned dining rooms, the maintenance cycle can be extended to 18–24 months.

Marble dining tables weigh 80–200kg depending on size — this is not a job for a standard furniture delivery driver. Our dedicated stone delivery team uses proper moving equipment, protective blankets, and installation dollies specifically for heavy stone furniture. They are experienced in navigating stairwells, lifts, and tight corridor turns without dragging or tilting the stone (which can stress the base joints). The table is assembled and level-set in your dining room before the team leaves. We do not sub-contract stone furniture delivery — every marble table is handled by our own trained crew. Jade stone (onyx) is a translucent semi-precious stone — unlike marble, which is opaque, onyx allows light to pass through its crystalline structure, creating a jewel-like depth of colour that is completely unique in the stone world. Each slab comes in one-of-a-kind colour patterns — green jade, honey amber, alabaster white — formed over millions of years. Onyx is rarer than marble, harder to quarry in usable slab sizes, and significantly more difficult to cut and polish without causing fractures. It is also more delicate than marble in terms of daily use — best suited to dining rooms where it functions as a showpiece rather than a high-traffic work surface. The price premium reflects genuine material scarcity. It is the furniture equivalent of a precious stone — limited, irreplaceable, and unmistakable.
